An upcoming Thomas Jefferson Institute Conference will focus on the twin issues of  “Cap and Trade” and imposition of a possible carbon tax, examining the scientific, economic and political considerations needed as national and state policy is crafted. Scheduled for the morning of May 20 in the Azalea Room of the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden and Library Complex, scheduled speakers include –

  • Dr. David Schnare, Director of the Institute’s Center for Environmental Stewardship and an attorney and Ph.D. in Environmental Management with 35 years of public service at the Federal level;
  • Kenneth Green, an environmental scientist with the American Enterprise Institute with previous experience as an expert review for the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and
  • Myron Ebell, director of energy and global warming policy at the Competitive Enterprise Institute and chair of the Cooler Heads Coalition.

The program will be held from 9:30 am until 12 noon. There is no fee to attend, but advance registration is required. For more information please visit the TJI website.
